George Mullin allowed Jim Murphy to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Bennett Park as the Detroit Tigers beat the St. Louis-AL Browns 2 to
1.

In the bottom of the 7th inning Detroit scored 1 run.  St. Louis-AL had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.  The win went to Mullin(4-2) who
allowed 1 run in the game. Ed Reulbach(9-3) took the loss.  He pitched 8
innings giving up only 5 hits and 1 walk.
