The game was won by New York when they scored a run in the top of the 8th inning. After an out was recorded, Roy Hartzell doubled. Doc Cook stepped up next and he stroked a one-base hit. Daley then stroked a single scoring the run. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. The win was credited to Fisher(5-6) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs. Bill Steen(2-4) suffered the loss. He was touched for 10 hits and 8 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. 'You have to give Cleveland credit, they fought us tough to the end' Chance said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the victory.'
