With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, Washington Nationals came
from behind to top Cleveland Indians, 6 to 5.

Washington scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning when
they came up with 4 runs on 4 hits.  The biggest moment was provided by
Willard Marshall who thrilled the crowd when he doubled bringing in two
baserunners.  Washington rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Herm Wehmeier(3-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Gerry Staley(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief.  'What a game!,' Wehmeier
said afterward.  'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
