Mel Queen was the victor as the Boston-AL Red Sox defeated the Chicago-NL Cubs
in 12 innings 4 to 2 at Fenway Park.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Boston-AL won it in the 12th inning.
After two were out George Kell opened up the rally as he lashed a single.
Eddie Stanky was next and he cracked a two-run shot making Boston-AL
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Boston-AL had only 6
hits for the game.  

Queen(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing no
runs.  The right-handed Consuegra lost his no-hit bid when Walt Dropo homered
with nobody out in the 6th inning.  The loss was charged to Howie Judson(1-2)
in relief.
