Jack Crooks blasted 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Win Mercer was able to finish
what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Washington
Senators topped the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 14 to 8 at South End
Grounds.

Crooks had a big day with his bat.  He smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd
inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 7th inning
and cracked a two-run shot in the 8th inning.  The score went back-and-forth
with the lead changing 6 times.  

Mercer(7-7) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 8 runs. Jim
Sullivan(5-5) was charged with the loss.  He served up 4 gopher balls in 9
innings.  

'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Crooks said.
'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
