WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Cupid Childs robbed Billy Clingman of a base hit.

General Stafford had 2 base hits and 5 RBI and Chick Fraser completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the Louisville Colonels defeated the
Cleveland Spiders 9 to 3 at League Park.

Louisville scored 3 runs in the decisive 5th inning when they had 3 base hits.
The biggest moment was provided by Stafford who silenced the stadium when he
lined a base-hit bringing home two baserunners. Louisville had 12 hits for
the afternoon.

Fraser(2-9) allowed 3 runs on the game. John Pappalau(0-1) ended up with the
loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 12 hits and 6 walks in
9 innings.

'We really needed this win' said Fred Clarke. 'That first drink of water at
the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
