inning and got by the Boston-AL Red Sox by the score of 9 to 6.

In the top of the 4th inning Cincinnati scored 5 runs when they had 4 base
hits.  The highlight belonged to Hal Chase who deflated the mood of the
partisan fans when he ripped a base-knock which was good for two runs.
Cincinnati finished with 17 hits while Boston-AL ended up with 13.

Mordecai Brown(4-8) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. Ed
Willett(1-2) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 4 and
1/3 innings.
