Tom Lee went the distance and Ned Williamson went deep and had 3 RBI as the
Chicago White Stockings topped the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 8 to 7 at
Lake Front Park.

The deciding run was scored by Chicago in the bottom of the 8th.  After two
outs Williamson slapped a single.  Williamson was safe on a stolen base.  Tom
Burns then banged out a single scoring the run.  Boston went down quietly in
the 9th.  

The victory went to Lee(3-1) who went the distance allowing 7 runs. The losing
pitcher was Charlie Buffinton(13-7).  He allowed 10 hits and 1 walk in 8
innings.  

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Lee said.
