TEAM RISP- Nationals: 6 for 17 Browns: 0 for 16

Bob Barr completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Washington
Nationals defeated the St. Louis Browns in 10 innings 6 to 2 at Sportsman's
Park.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Washington
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. The biggest moment was provided by
Henry Mullin who silenced the stadium when he hit a single bringing home two
baserunners. Washington finished with 8 hits in the victory.

Barr(3-15) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Tip O'Neill(4-7) was
the loser. He surrendered 6 runs and 8 hits in 10 innings.

'We really needed this win' said Washington's manager. 'That first drink of
water at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
