3,583 fans watched an exciting game at Sportsman'S Park.  The St. Louis-AL
Browns topped the Washington Senators by the slimmest of margins, 6 to
5.

St. Louis-AL scored the deciding run in the 8th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Hobe Ferris lined a single.  One out later, Fred Tenney stepped up
to the plate and he doubled scoring the run.  Washington made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.  

The victory went to Harry Howell(4-5) who went 8 innings, allowing 5 runs.
Frank Corridon earned the save, his 2nd.  Beany Jacobson(2-2) was hit with
the loss.  

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Howell said.  'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'
