The smoking-hot St. Louis-AL Browns and the Cincinnati Reds locked up in an
exciting one-run game at Sportsmans Park.  The final score was the
smoking-hot St. Louis-AL Browns 3, the Cincinnati Reds 2 in 13 innings.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  St. Louis-AL won it in
the 13th inning.  Ed Reulbach doubled.  Two outs later Joe Birmingham stepped
up to the plate and he smacked a single giving St. Louis-AL the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd.  St. Louis-AL had 10 hits for the
afternoon while Cincinnati had 6.  

Reulbach(8-7) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 4 innings. Elmer
Stricklett(7-6) was the loser.  No one has been able to stop St. Louis-AL
lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 7 games.
