Delahanty was spectacular at the plate. The hometown fans showed their appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat. He doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 6th inning and delivered a base-hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Detroit bats were hot in the 1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits. Detroit totaled 19 hits on the afternoon.
