The Detroit Tigers batters feasted on the St. Louis Browns pitching at Navin
Field. The final score was a lop-sided 10 to 2.
The game started off with Detroit taking the lead in the first plating 2 runs
on 2 hits. Ossie Vitt opened up the inning nicely when he delivered a
single. Marty Kavanagh came next and he reached on an error. Ty Cobb was
next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Sam Crawford was up next and
he singled plating two runs. Detroit had 13 hits for the afternoon while St.
Louis had 7.
Bill Steen(3-4) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Bill
James(7-4) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Detroit offense
and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
