Fleury Sullivan tossed a complete game as the Pittsburgh Alleghenys defeated
the Cincinnati Red Stockings 7 to 4 at League Park.

Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning with 3 runs.
Jimmy Knowles led off and started the attack as he smacked a single.  George
Creamer stepped up next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Ed Colgan then
reached on an error.  Ed Swartwood was up next and he drew a walk to load the
bases.  One out later, Bob Ferguson came to the plate and reached on an error
which scored a run.  Will White then let a pitch get away from him bringing
in another run.  Doggie Miller followed and he was walked intentionally to
load the bases.  Jim McDonald then reached on an error scoring the final run
of the inning.  Pittsburgh banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.

Sullivan(5-11) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. White(15-8)
ended up with the loss.  'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good
win for us' said Pittsburgh's manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on
track.'
