WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Lawrence Farley robbed Tip O'Neill of an extra base hit.
Top 6th: Charlie Comiskey robbed Walter Prince of a base hit.

Jumbo McGinnis took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and center fielder Tip
O'Neill cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the St. Louis Browns man-handled
the Washington Nationals - the final score was 17 to 2.

O'Neill provided much of the offense. He ripped a base-knock in the 3rd
inning, singled which brought home a run in the 4th inning, cracked a solo
homerun in the 6th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 8th inning. St.
Louis kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning with 6 runs on 6 hits and
the 7th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 5 hits. St. Louis rapped out
22 hits for the afternoon.

McGinnis(9-8) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. The
right-handed McGinnis lost a no-hitter when Buck Gladmon singled with nobody
out in the 6th inning. John Hamill(1-10) was given the loss. He was touched
for 22 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.

The St. Louis ballclub's record now stands at 16-21. Washington can't seem to
snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over
the last couple weeks.
