Tom Hughes pitched a complete game as the Washington Nationals defeated the
New York Highlanders by the score of 13 to 4 at Hilltop Park.

Washington had 6 runs cross the plate in the top of the 3rd inning when they
had 5 base hits.  That early scoring held up.  Washington provided plenty of
action in the 3rd inning which saw them score 6 runs on 5 hits.  Washington
had a total of 20 hits for the game.  

Hughes(6-7) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Hippo Vaughn(1-4)
was the losing pitcher.  He was knocked around by Washington, allowing 20
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
