Al Demaree had a strong outing as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the New
York Giants in 10 innings by a score of 2 to 1 at Polo Grounds.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Philadelphia came out on top
in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Gavy Cravath smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly'. Philadelphia rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.
Demaree(6-2) allowed 1 run on the game. Hank Ritter(0-1) was given the loss in
relief. 'He came out with good stuff,' Pat Moran said about Demaree. 'He
threw the ball good from the first pitch on.'
