Warren Spahn racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Washington
Nationals beat the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8 to 0.

Spahn(6-6) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Cincinnati offense.  He
allowed just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 5.19 to
4.76.  Washington finished with 14 hits in the victory.  

Preacher Roe(5-7) was given the loss.  He was touched for 11 hits and 6 walks
in 5 innings.  'Everything felt great' Spahn said. 'I had a good fastball, I
felt I could throw it by everybody today.'
