the New York-AL Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7 to 6 at Yankee
Stadium.

Priddy helped send the fans home happy. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st
inning, lined a base-hit in the 3rd inning and hit a single scoring a run in
the 8th inning. Cincinnati made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable
to push the needed runs across.

The win was credited to Satchel Paige(2-1) who went 3 innings allowing 2 runs.
Dave Koslo(1-1) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 4 hits in
2 innings.
