TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 3 for 11 White Stockings: 6 for 20
WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Dick Johnston robbed Billy Sunday of an extra base hit.

Fred Pfeffer had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Mark Baldwin went the distance as the
Chicago White Stockings bested the Boston Beaneaters 16 to 8 at West Side
Park.

Pfeffer provided much of the offense. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the
1st inning, tripled in the 5th inning, stroked a base-hit in the 7th inning
and laced a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Chicago bats were hot in the 1st
inning when they had 5 runs on 3 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score
4 runs on 4 hits. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town
fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Baldwin(11-6) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 8 runs. The loss
was charged to Dick Conway(5-3). He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 8
innings of work.
