George Van Haltren allowed John Monte Ward to rest his bullpen, tossing a
complete game and Paul Cook had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn Ward's
Wonders defeated the Cleveland Infants by the score of 13 to 9 at Brotherhood
Park.

Brooklyn tallied 5 runs in the 5th inning with the help of 3 hits. The big
moment was provided by Ward who quieted the crowd when he lined a base-hit
bringing in two baserunners.  The score went back-and-forth with the lead
changing 5 times.  

The winning pitcher was Van Haltren(13-6) who allowed 9 runs for the game.
Jersey Bakley(7-11) absorbed the loss.  He allowed 13 hits and 5 walks in 7
and 2/3 innings.
