Duke Esper went yard and had 3 RBI as the Washington Senators defeated the
Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 12 to 8 at Exposition Park.

Esper provided the offensive punch.  He ripped a base-knock in the 4th inning,
hit a bases-empty home run in the 8th inning and doubled which was good for
two runs in the 9th inning.  Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Pittsburg
could not get the win.  

The victory was credited to Esper(8-1) who went 8 innings, allowing 8 runs.
The losing pitcher was Frank Killen(10-6).  He was knocked around by
Washington, allowing 12 hits and 7 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
