WEB GEMS- Top 7th: Dummy Hoy robbed Tom Brown of an extra base hit.

Catcher Morgan Murphy had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Billy Rhines tossed a
complete game as the blistering-hot Cincinnati Reds defeated the floundering
St. Louis Browns by a score of 9 to 1 at League Park.

St. Louis was unable to climb back into it after Cincinnati went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. That
was all Rhines(5-5) needed. Cincinnati had 10 hits for the afternoon.

Red Ehret(4-10) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and
2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. For Cincinnati, it was just another victory in
their mounting winning streak.
