The final score,, was 4 to 3. Chicago-NL had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jack Lelivelt initiated the scoring spurt when he slapped a single. Ed Lennox stepped up next and he lined a one-base hit. Donie Bush then doubled scoring a run. Bobby Byrne stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. One out later, Rube Oldring came to bat and reached on an error scoring the final run of the inning. Despite losing, Boston-NL out-hit Chicago-NL 11 to 8. Eddie Plank(3-7) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Jack Ferry got the save, his 4th. Rube Waddell(0-2) took the loss in relief.
