First baseman Dan Brouthers touched them all and had 4 RBI and Jim O'Rourke
pitched 8 and one third strong innings as the Buffalo Bisons came back to win
one over Philadelphia Quakers, 12 to 11.

Buffalo had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 4 hits.
Davy Force led off and started the attack as he slapped a base-hit. After an
out was recorded, O'Rourke stepped up to the plate and he ripped a
base-knock. Charlie Ferguson then let a pitch get away from him. Hardy
Richardson followed and he ripped a single plating a run. One out later,
Brouthers came to the plate and reached on an error. Brouthers added to the
outburst and was walked intentionally. Deacon White next to the plate and he
stroked a one-base hit giving Buffalo the victory as 1,140 happy fans
celebrated wildly. Buffalo kept the pressure on throughout the contest as
they scored in 6 different innings.

The win was credited to O'Rourke(1-0) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Ferguson(10-12) took the loss. He was knocked around by Buffalo,
allowing 19 hits and 5 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'Wow, that was fun!', O'Rourke said following the game. 'Once in a while you
play a game that reminds you just why you got into this business to begin
with!'
