At Polo Grounds, the New York-NL faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel.  Frank Arellanes(5-2) finally bested his Boston-AL
counterpart, Rube Waddell(6-5), by the score of 3 to 1.

Arellanes earned his pay with a solid performance for New York-NL.  He went 6
and 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 walk lowering his ERA to 3.50.
Boston-AL had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  

Irv Higginbotham earned his 3rd save.  Waddell was tagged with the loss.  He
gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
