Barney Pelty went 7 solid innings as the St. Louis Browns staged a dramatic
comeback over the Detroit Tigers by a score of 2 to 1 at Sportsman'S
Park.

St. Louis erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs.  Al Schweitzer led off and started the rally when he lined a
single.  Danny Hoffman stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Frank
Truesdale then reached on an error.  Jim Stephens came up and he drew a walk
plating a run.  Tommy Mee came to the plate and reached on an error giving
St. Louis the victory as 7,960 happy fans celebrated wildly.  St. Louis had 9
hits for the game and Detroit had 4.  

The win went to Dode Criss(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Ed
Killian(2-3) was charged with the loss.  'That was exciting!,' Pat Newnam
said.  'I would have paid money to watch this one.'
