In a dramatic ending the Chicago Whales staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Brooklyn club by the count of 10 to 7.
Chicago won the game with a rally in the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs
on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by George McConnell who disappointed
the partisan crowd when he doubled emptying the bases. Both teams totaled 9
hits on the afternoon.
McConnell(9-3) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 runs for the win. Dave Black
recorded the save, his 1st. Mysterious Walker(5-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing 3 hits and 2 walks.
