Ivy Olson had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds bested the
Pittsburgh Pirates 7 to 2 at Forbes Field.

Cincinnati promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating 3 runs
using 5 hits.  Tommy Leach kicked off the action when he laced a base-knock.
Fritz Mollwitz followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Buck Herzog
then ripped a single driving in a run.  Herzog took second on the throw.  Red
Killefer was up next and he singled.  Heine Groh stepped into the box and
drew a walk to load the bases.  Tommy Clarke kept the inning going and lashed
a one-base hit which was good for two more runs.  That was all the runs Gene
Dale(2-8) needed.  Cincinnati had 12 hits overall, while Pittsburgh had 9.

The losing pitcher was George McQuillan(4-4).  He allowed 10 hits and 5 walks
in 7 and 1/3 innings.
