753 fans watched an exciting game at Terrapin Park.  The St. Louis Terriers
topped the Baltimore Terrapins by the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.

The game started off with St. Louis taking the lead in the first as they
scored 3 runs on 1 base hits.  Baltimore threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.  

Doc Crandall(6-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 6 runs. Crandall was helped out by Ernie Herbert who recorded his
2nd save.  Rankin Johnson(4-4) was given the loss.  He couldn't find the
plate, issuing 12 walks in 9 innings.  

'He gutted it out' Fielder Jones said of Crandall.  'I was very impressed by
his tenacity.'
