Second baseman Hardy Richardson ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Kid Madden
pitched a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters defeated the Indianapolis
Hoosiers by a score of 18 to 11 at Athletic Park.

Richardson propelled Boston to victory.  He ripped a solo home run in the 3rd
inning, lined a single in the 4th inning, blasted a two-run home run in the
6th inning, doubled in the 8th inning and doubled which scored a run in the
9th inning.  Boston bats were hot in the 8th inning which saw them plate 6
runs on 6 hits.  The Boston offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.  

The victory went to Madden(3-4) who went the distance allowing 11 runs. Bill
Burdick(2-2) was the loser.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 9 innings.

Richardson was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I
want to see how that game looks on paper.'
