and and the Detroit Tigers locked up in an exciting one-run game at Bennett
Park. The final score was the St. Louis Browns 8, the Detroit Tigers 7.
In the 3rd inning St. Louis scored 4 runs when they came up with 5 base hits.
They would be enough to earn the win. Detroit tried unsuccessfully to come
back in the 9th.
Bill Grahame(5-4) got the win allowing 7 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Bill
Bailey earned his 3rd save. Bill Donovan(4-3) was given the loss. He
allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Jimmy McAleer said after the game. 'Grahame did not have
command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew
how to pitch!'
