Johnny Lush completed the game without help from the bullpen and Steve Evans
collected 3 extra-base hits and had 4 RBI at Forbes Field as the St. Louis
Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9 to 4.

Evans had a good day at the plate.  He doubled emptying the bases in the 1st
inning, tripled in the 5th inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 7th
inning.  St. Louis totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.  

Lush(8-4) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Lefty Webb(1-1)
ended up with the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 6
and 2/3 innings.
