Center fielder Stan Musial had 4 hits and 6 RBI at Fenway Park where the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the Boston Red Sox 11 to 5.

Musial enjoyed a great evening at the plate. He ripped a base-hit in the 2nd
inning, laced a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners in the 3rd inning,
doubled plating two runs in the 4th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the
9th inning. Overall Philadelphia out-hit Boston 11 to 7.

Murry Dickson(2-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Ralph Branca(9-3) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard
and gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.

'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Musial said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
