Roy Campanella launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Cleveland Indians
defeated the Washington Nationals by a score of 11 to 7 at Griffith
Stadium.

Campanella was unconscious all evening. The Washington fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He doubled
plating a run in the 1st inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 2nd inning
and cracked a two-run shot in the 5th inning. Cleveland had a total of 15
hits for the game.

Murry Dickson(9-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing
7 runs. Dickson got help from Jim Hearn who was credited with his 21st save.
Ken Raffensberger(6-7) was charged with the loss. He allowed Cleveland 8
runs in 4 innings of work.

Campanella was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I
want to see how that game looks on paper.'
