Pee Wee Reese had 2 base hits as the Chicago-NL Cubs defeated the
Philadelphia-NL Phillies by a score of 3 to 2 at Wrigley Field.
Chicago-NL won the game with a run in the 8th inning. After an out was
recorded, Carl Furillo ripped a base-hit. Walt Dropo came next and he lined
a single. Duke Snider then laced a base-knock to load the bases. Reese was
up next and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Philadelphia-NL proved to be
no trouble in the 9th.
The victory was credited to Howie Judson(2-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Tom Morgan(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief.
