TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 1 for 13 White Stockings: 1 for 12
WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Dick Johnston robbed Silver Flint of an extra base hit.

John Clarkson had a complete game and right fielder Billy Sunday had 4 hits
and scored 3 times as the seemingly unstoppable Chicago White Stockings beat
the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 5 to 4.

Chicago won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs using 3
hits. Sunday started the inning off right when he singled. Jimmy Ryan
followed next and he banged out a single. Marty Sullivan then reached on an
error bringing in a run. Ryan proceeded to steal third base. Cap Anson
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Fred Pfeffer extended the rally
and hit a single which accounted for two additional runs. Both teams ended
up with 10 hits on the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Clarkson(15-4) who allowed 4 runs for the game. The
loss was charged to Bill Stemmyer(2-5). Chicago continued their winning
ways, with their streak now at 7 games and counting. King Kelly was upset but
philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a
roll. This was one of those times.'
