Fred Clarke hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI and Howie Camnitz pitched a complete
game as the Washington Nationals defeated the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a
score of 9 to 4 at Columbia Park.

Washington scored 6 runs in the decisive top of the 2nd inning when they came
up with 8 base hits.  That early run support was all that Camnitz(7-5)
required.  Philadelphia-AL had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Ed Summers(5-8) was hit with the loss.  He was touched for 10 hits and 2 walks
in 2 innings.
