5,889 fans were treated to a fine game at South Side Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Chicago White Sox won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Chicago delivered all the runs required in the 8th inning with 3 runs on 3
hits.  Lee Tannehill led off the inning for Chicago when he reached on an
error.  Two outs later Doc White came to bat and delivered a base-hit scoring
a run.  White was safe at second on a stolen base.  Ed Hahn was up next and
he lashed a single scoring another run.  Chicago continued their aggressive
style with another stolen base.  Mike Welday added to the rally and delivered
a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning.  The teams had been
locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

The victory went to Bill Burns(2-7) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs. Harry
Suter gained credit for his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was Ed
Summers(6-7).  He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an
earned run in the game.
