WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Art Fletcher robbed Ward Miller of a base hit.
Bot 7th: George McBride robbed Home Run Baker of a base hit.

Jake Daubert had 2 base hits and 5 RBI at Shibe Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates
staged a comeback win over the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by the count of 14
to 10.

Philadelphia-AL was unable to overcome the big offensive rally by Pittsburgh
in the top of the 9th inning as they pummeled Philadelphia-AL for 8 runs on 4
hits. The biggest moment was provided by Daubert who deflated the spirits of
the home town crowd when he tripled with all three baserunners touching home.
Pittsburgh banged out 13 hits on the afternoon.

Jack Ferry(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Sandy Burk(1-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and
1 walk in 1 inning.

Steven Schell was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last
at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there?
You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what
makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over
'til its over.'
