Cap Crowell was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and center fielder Amos Strunk had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the
Philadelphia Athletics defeated the Washington Nationals 3 to 1 at Griffith
Stadium.

Crowell(1-1) gave Philadelphia a solid outing.  He went 9 innings and
surrended up 5 hits and 5 walks seeing his ERA drop from 6.75 to 3.45.  After
the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.
