John Reccius allowed Denny Mack to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Louisville Eclipse really laid it on the St. Louis Brown Stockings 17
to 4.

Guy Hecker enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He smashed a two-run homer in the
1st inning, tripled which scored a run in the 2nd inning and stroked a
base-hit in the 8th inning.  Louisville kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st
inning tallying 4 runs and the 2nd inning with 9 runs on 9 hits.  Louisville
rapped out 20 hits for the afternoon.  

Reccius(2-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. John
Schappert(7-7) was hit with the loss.  By giving up 17 runs in 9 innings his
ERA increased from 2.50 to 3.19.
