TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 6 for 17 Browns: 9 for 23

Frank Shugart hit a homerun and had 5 RBI as the St. Louis Browns topped the
Boston Beaneaters by a score of 17 to 14 at Robison Field.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Shugart. He tripled plating all three baserunners in the 4th
inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 8th inning. St. Louis bats were
very productive in the 4th inning when they had 8 runs on 5 hits. The St.
Louis offense was as consistent as it was powerful. They scored in every
inning, making a joke of the Boston pitching.

Ted Breitenstein(8-14), allowing 14 runs for the game, picked up the victory.
The losing pitcher was Harry Staley(6-5). He was knocked around by St.
Louis, allowing 18 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.
