Demontreville had a big day against Baltimore. He blasted a solo shot in the 3rd inning, delivered a single in the 4th inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 6th inning and doubled which scored a run in the 8th inning. Washington provided plenty of action in the 4th inning which saw them plate 10 runs on 8 hits and the 8th inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits. Baltimore was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames. The win was credited to King(5-1) who went the whole way allowing 8 runs. Arlie Pond(8-2) was the loser. He was unable to control the Washington offense and allowed 19 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
