Al Maul completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Louisville
Colonels were badly beaten by the very strong Baltimore Orioles, 16 to
3.

Baltimore scored 6 runs in the 4th inning when they came up with 4 base hits.
The big moment was provided by Ducky Holmes who silenced the crowd when he
stroked a single scoring two baserunners.  Baltimore lit up the scoreboard in
the 4th inning which saw them score 6 runs on 4 hits and the 5th inning when
they had 5 runs on 4 hits.  Baltimore totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.

Maul(5-1) allowed 3 runs on the game. Chick Fraser(5-11) ended up with the
loss.  He was knocked around by Baltimore, allowing 15 hits and 7 walks in 9
innings.  

This win by Baltimore continues their recent hot streak.  In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2.  For the season, they are a league leading
43-14.  Louisville has a record of 25-37 after the loss.
