Cy Young went 9 solid innings as the Boston Americans defeated the Washington
Senators 9 to 1 at American League Park.

Boston took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning when they scored 2
runs on 3 hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.  Boston rapped
out 17 hits for the afternoon.  

Young(11-4) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. Casey Patten(3-4)
took the loss.  He allowed 17 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  

'Young was the man today,' Jimmy Collins said.  'He had just about every pitch
working.'
