Rube Vickers was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Columbia Park as the Philadelphia Athletics beat the
Washington Nationals by the count of 4 to 3.

Washington was unable to climb back into it after Philadelphia went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one runner.  After two outs Doc
Powers drew a walk.  Vickers followed next and he delivered a one-base hit.
Topsy Hartsel then reached on an error scoring the run.  Philadelphia and
Washington each finished the afternoon with 6 hits.  

Vickers(5-8) allowed 3 runs on the game. Walter Johnson(0-3) was the losing
pitcher.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks.
