Third baseman Ray Boone blasted 2 homeruns as the Washington Nationals beat
the Brooklyn Dodgers in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Finally, Washington pulled the game out
in the 10th inning.  Boone was the sparkplug when he smashed a solo-shot out
of the park.  After an out was recorded, Harry Simpson stepped up to the
plate and he hit a bases-empty home run.  Roy Sievers then blasted a solo
shot.  Despite losing, Brooklyn out-hit Washington 10 to 7.  

Warren Spahn(10-6) went 9 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Fritz Dorish earned his 6th save.  Gene Conley(2-3) was charged with the
loss.  He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 10 innings of work.
