Jim Whitney had a complete game as the Boston Red Stockings bested the Buffalo
Bisons in 10 innings 4 to 1 at Riverside Park.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston won the game
in the 10th inning.  Pat Deasley led off and started the attack as he reached
on an error.  Deasley was next and he hit a single, and an error was also
committed.  Ross Barnes then doubled which scored a run.  Two outs later Ezra
Sutton came to bat and doubled bringing in another run.  Joe Hornung stepped
into the box and laced a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning.  The
teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 8th inning.  

The win was credited to Whitney(11-11) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
Jack Lynch(2-10) was the losing pitcher.  Boston now has a record of 13-21.
Buffalo has a record of 14-20 after the loss.
