The Columbus fans enjoyed the offense provided by Johnson. He tripled scoring two baserunners in the 1st inning and tripled bringing in a run in the 7th inning. Columbus lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning tallying 5 runs and the 8th inning plating 4 runs. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 7 times in all. Wild Bill Widner(3-7) allowed 4 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Ice Box Chamberlain recorded his 1st save. Mike Morrison(3-6) was the loser in relief. By surrending 11 runs in 7 innings his ERA jumped from 3.72 to 4.40.
